Europe's weekend activity was the sole growth segment at +1.72% MoM, likely driven by winter leisure travel to Alpine ski destinations. Rest of World weekday operations showed the steepest decline at -18.85%, suggesting December's strong performance was partly driven by year-end corporate activity that normalized in January.

Global Pattern Analysis January's weekday/weekend split stood at 57.6% / 42.4%. Both segments declined from December, with weekday operations contracting more sharply (-10.75%) than weekend (-6.30%), indicating that the seasonal January slowdown had a more pronounced impact on corporate scheduling patterns.

North America Dynamics North America showed parallel declines in both weekday (-9.43%) and weekend (-7.14%) operations, reflecting a broad post-holiday normalization. The relatively even contraction across both segments suggests a uniform return to baseline activity levels rather than any structural shift in demand patterns.

Europe Seasonal Impact Europe exhibited a notable divergence: weekday departures declined -10.74% while weekend activity grew +1.72%, making it the sole positive segment globally. This weekend resilience is attributed to Alpine ski season leisure demand, which sustained Friday-Sunday travel even as corporate weekday scheduling moderated in January.

Rest of World Contraction Rest of World experienced the steepest weekday decline at -18.85%, while weekend fell a more moderate -8.41%. The outsized weekday drop indicates that December's elevated corporate and year-end activity in Middle Eastern and Asia-Pacific markets normalized sharply into January, with leisure demand providing partial support on weekends.
