May Performance Analysis Europe recorded 61,276 business jet departures in May 2026, a +68.05% sequential surge from April 2026's 36,463 flights — the strongest monthly gain of any region. Year-over-year, the region expanded +30.74% against May 2025's 46,869 departures. This jump aligns with Europe's seasonal spring-to-summer acceleration, amplified this year by an unusually strong demand recovery.

The region's 16.37% global share rose sharply from April's 13.07%, its highest in recent months and reflecting the magnitude of the European rebound. May 2026's level effectively matches the trailing-twelve-month peak set in July 2025, signaling an early and powerful start to the summer season.

Seasonal Pattern Recognition The 13-month trend highlights Europe's pronounced summer-peak seasonality, with Jul 2025's 61,380 departures representing the annual high. May 2026's 61,276 departures already rival that peak and sit well above the 46,869 recorded in May 2025, positioning Europe for a potentially record summer.

Market Dynamics Key European markets — France (9,927), United Kingdom (9,073), Italy (8,065), Spain (6,883) and Germany (6,658) — all advanced sharply from April levels. France led the national rankings within Europe with 32,193 cumulative flights (Jan-May, +17.33% YoY). Fast-growing markets including Hungary (+264% MoM), Greece (+120%) and Croatia (+119%) underscored the breadth of the upturn.

European charter operators reported strong May booking volumes extending March's momentum. The region's high proportion of cross-border flights (73.89%) amplified the upswing, with cross-border operators capturing the largest absolute gains. Domestic-only carriers also advanced.

June Outlook June 2025's 57,529 baseline represents Europe's traditional summer ramp, a level May's run-rate has already cleared. YTD Jan-May 2026 stands at 212,051 flights, +17.09% above Jan-May 2025's 181,096, a strong cushion. Sustained June-August demand would push Europe past 2025's summer peak.
