📉 Business Aviation Movements Decline Across All Three Nordic Countries, with Oslo Leading the Drop at 16.6%
Avi-Go data shows that from January to June 2026, the three major airports of Stockholm ESSA, Helsinki EFHK, and Oslo ENGM recorded a combined 5,879 business aviation movements, down 12.9% year-on-year (a decrease of 870 movements) from 6,749 in the same period of 2025, with all three airports posting YOY contractions. Among them, Oslo ENGM saw the largest decline at 16.6% (-493 movements), with a sharp 23.6% year-on-year plunge in May alone; Helsinki EFHK declined 10.6%, and although it bucked the trend with 20% growth in January, it crashed 30% in March; Stockholm ESSA recorded declines in every month, dropping 9.5% over the full period. This broad-based, cross-airport downward trend points to a substantive weakening in Nordic business aviation demand.
Impact: As the node with the deepest decline and most severe volatility, Oslo's local FBOs and ground service providers face simultaneous pressure on parking spot utilization as well as fueling and catering revenue; the synchronized contraction across all three airports means operators struggle to hedge through intra-regional scheduling, reducing the Nordic segment's contribution to the overall route network.
Recommendation: Operators should reassess the capacity and pricing allocation of Nordic routes before the end of the third quarter of 2026, designating Oslo ENGM as a key contraction monitoring target; FBOs can roll out charter bundles or long-term parking discounts ahead of the peak season in the second half of 2026 to compete for the remaining customer base in a shrinking market.
