✈️ NetJets Takes Delivery of First Citation Ascends as European Operations Drop 15.6% Year-Over-Year
Avi-Go data shows that NetJets Europe completed a cumulative 34,716 flight movements between January 1 and May 18, 2026, down 15.6% from 41,112 movements during the same period in 2025, a reduction of more than 6,300 movements. The active fleet size also narrowed from a range of 93 to 101 aircraft in the same period of 2025 to 78 to 90 aircraft, a contraction of 10% to 20%. March data was particularly anomalous, with only 4,760 movements recorded for the month, a year-over-year plunge of 48.5%, and the active fleet falling to a historic low of 78 aircraft. April recovered to 8,830 movements, but remained below the prior year figure of 9,532. Notably, the active fleet reversed its decline in May for the first time, rising to 88 aircraft, slightly above the 85 recorded in the same month last year. This may be connected to NetJets taking delivery of its first 3 Citation Ascend aircraft between May 5 and 12, 2026. As the global launch customer for this midsize jet, the company is using the type to advance its fleet renewal program, complementing the product line transition following the discontinuation of Citation XLS jet card sales in January 2026.
