Business jet flight activity between Mexico City and both Guadalajara and Monterrey declined over the past 30 days, with the decrease on the Guadalajara city pair being more pronounced. Avi-Go data show that, based on combined figures for Mexico City’s Toluca (MMTO) and Benito Juárez (MMMX) airports, the Mexico City–Guadalajara (MMGL) city pair recorded 216 flights from July 15 to August 13, 2026, down 383 flights, or 63.9%, from 599 flights between June 15 and July 14. Outbound flights fell from 306 to 110, while return flights declined from 293 to 106. During the same period, the Mexico City–Monterrey (MMMY) city pair dropped from 174 flights to 110, a decrease of 64 flights, or 36.8%, with 58 outbound flights and 52 return flights. Both trunk routes declined during the same window, but a single 30-day comparison only reflects changes within that period, and subsequent trends remain to be observed.
Impact: The absolute decrease on the Guadalajara city pair accounted for 85.7% of the combined decline across the two routes, indicating a more concentrated shift in demand affecting related charter operations and brokerage business. The Monterrey city pair still recorded 110 flights, which, together with the 216 flights on the Guadalajara city pair, represents significant intercity business jet traffic serving Mexico City’s two airports.
Recommendation: In view of the difference between the 383-flight decrease on the Guadalajara city pair and the 64-flight decrease on the Monterrey city pair, relevant operators should reassess crew scheduling and aircraft allocation on both routes to avoid maintaining the deployment pace used from June 15 to July 14. They should also continue monitoring at least one complete 30-day window after August 14 to determine whether the two city pairs recover or whether the declines merely reflect a short-term fluctuation in the middle of the summer 2026 season.
