✈️ India Business Aviation Market Enters Structural Expansion Phase, Hyderabad Leads Growth Among Four Major Hubs
Avi-Go data shows that India's four major business aviation airports (Mumbai VABB, Delhi VIDP, Bangalore VOBL, Hyderabad VOHS) recorded a combined total of approximately 2,454 movements in December 2025, marking the annual peak; from January to April 2026, the monthly average was approximately 1,889 movements, representing a year-on-year increase of approximately 7.8% compared to the same period in 2025. Hyderabad delivered the most notable performance, climbing from approximately 100 movements in January 2025 to approximately 323 movements in December 2025, a surge of 223%. Bangalore's active fleet size also expanded from 10 to 13 aircraft in the first half of the year to 18 to 23 aircraft in the second half. It should be noted that Hyderabad's extreme growth rate may be partly driven by a low base effect or one-off large-scale events, and whether this represents a sustained trend requires confirmation from subsequent data. On the market access front, the Gulfstream G700 received Indian airworthiness certification in March 2026, Fly Alliance announced plans to operate 10 aircraft in the Indian market, and Indian leasing group Vman provisionally agreed to acquire 10 aircraft. The growing availability of operating lease options is lowering the capital threshold for fleet expansion.
Impact: For FBO operators and ground handling service providers, traffic growth at the two IT and pharmaceutical hubs of Hyderabad and Bangalore has already established a meaningful scale foundation, and capacity bottlenecks will emerge earlier than in Mumbai and Delhi. For OEMs and charter platforms, the simultaneous occurrence of G700 certification and Fly Alliance's market entry has opened a competitive window for the local operation of high-end aircraft types.
Recommendation: FBO and ground handling service providers should complete capacity assessments for Hyderabad and Bangalore before the third quarter of 2026, prioritizing the securing of parking positions and staffing resources to avoid service gaps during peak seasons. Charter platforms and brokers may consider launching tailored operating lease solutions targeting India's technology and pharmaceutical corporate clients in the second half of 2026, using the G700 certification as an entry point to strengthen their high-end product line positioning.
