India's market combines high growth with high concentration. Q1 2026 business aviation movements reached 18,236, up 16.7% from 15,623 in Q1 2025. Avi-Go data shows a heavily concentrated market: VSR Ventures leads with 10,437 cumulative movements (Jan 2025–Mar 2026), far ahead of second-place Air Charter Services at 3,566; VistaJet and Empire Aviation rank 8th and 9th with just 1,199 and 1,155 movements respectively, reflecting clear regulatory constraints on foreign operator penetration. U.S. charter operator Fly Alliance has reportedly announced plans to enter India with a 10-aircraft fleet, but given that leading domestic operators operate at multiples of that scale, fleet expansion alone is unlikely to build market position quickly.
Implications: Domestic operators hold significant entry barriers through regulatory advantages and established client relationships, making it difficult for foreign entrants to compete on volume in the near term. Ultra-long-range aircraft and corporate charter segments may offer some differentiation opportunity.
