🌏 Haneda Leads in Scale, While Narita Highlights Trans-Pacific Connectivity

Tokyo’s business aviation activity is concentrated at Haneda, but the two airports show different arrival-source profiles. Avi-Go data indicates that from May 16 to August 14, 2026, Haneda RJTT recorded 828 movements, compared with 444 at Narita RJAA. Arrivals at Haneda primarily originated from Japan with 108 movements, China with 96, the United States with 72, and South Korea with 25. At Narita, Japan led with 66 movements, followed by the United States with 55 and China with 40, making the United States more prominent in Narita’s international arrival mix.

Impact: Haneda handles a higher volume of business aviation movements and more arrivals from East Asia, while Narita maintains substantial traffic originating from the United States. These two demand profiles create differentiated business scenarios for ground handling and cross-border connections in Tokyo.

Recommendation: Service providers at the two airports can separately track demand for arrivals from China and South Korea at Haneda, as well as changes in US-origin traffic at Narita, and use data from September to November 2026 to assess whether this pattern continues.
