✈️ Greater Bay Area Business Aviation: Three Airports Compared, With Shenzhen Bao'an Carrying the Load

Business aviation operations in the Greater Bay Area are highly concentrated at Shenzhen Bao'an, while Zhuhai Jinwan has consistently failed to form a scaled network. Avi-Go data shows that from February 1 to July 30, 2026, Shenzhen Bao'an (ZGSZ) recorded a total of 1,237 business aviation movements, averaging about 206 per month, peaking at 245 in April; Macau (VMMC) recorded 620 movements over the same period, averaging about 103 per month, reaching a range high of 118 in June, with the most stable operations; Zhuhai Jinwan (ZGSD) had only 45 movements, showing a U-shaped distribution with high ends of 14 in February and 12 in July, and 3 to 6 movements from March to June, where single-digit monthly fluctuations trigger large percentage changes. Note that July for both locations only runs through the 30th, making it an incomplete month.

Impact: As the core of Greater Bay Area business aviation, the strain on Shenzhen Bao'an's movement resources and ground services directly affects regional capacity scheduling; under Zhuhai Jinwan's sporadic movements, FBO and ground service fixed costs are difficult to amortize.

Recommendation: FBOs and ground service providers should prioritize allocating resources toward Shenzhen Bao'an in their Q4 2026 business review; when scheduling for Greater Bay Area clients, Brokers are advised to make Shenzhen Bao'an and Macau their preferred landing choices, while Zhuhai Jinwan requires advance confirmation of available service windows.
