✈️ G700/G800 Global Fleet Doubles in One Year, China Flight Volume Surges 231% to Rank Third

Avi-Go data shows that the G700/G800 global active fleet grew from 34 aircraft in Q1 2025 to 74 aircraft in Q1 2026, an increase of 117.6%. Over the same period, flight volume among the Top 10 countries rose from 635 to 1,390 flights (+118.9%), with the aircraft type penetrating the market at a pace far exceeding comparable competitors. The most notable structural shift occurred in Asia-Pacific: China's flight volume jumped from 26 to 86 flights, a 230.8% increase, moving its ranking from 6th to 3rd largest operating country globally. South Korea entered the top five at 5th place with 62 flights, and the two countries together accounted for the majority of Asia-Pacific growth. Meanwhile, the United States further consolidated its dominant position with 874 flights, its share rising from 55.3% to 62.8%. Qatar declined from 44 flights to 25 flights, slipping to 10th place, reflecting clear divergence within the Middle East market. According to AIN, Gulfstream recorded its highest-ever single-quarter delivery figures in Q1 2026. The G700 completed its first delivery to MJets in Thailand in March 2026 and received airworthiness certification in India, with production ramp-up accelerating its penetration into the Asia-Pacific market.

Impact: The rapid expansion of G700 fleets in China and South Korea will generate substantial demand for initial scheduled maintenance, crew training, and parts support within the next 12 to 18 months. MRO providers with Asia-Pacific service networks will be the first to benefit. For brokers, the charter inquiry window for G700 aircraft in the Chinese market is opening, but fleet size remains small and available aircraft are limited, meaning pricing leverage will favor aircraft owners.

Recommendation: MRO providers and service operators should complete G700 type authorization and certification arrangements before Q3 2026, prioritizing the securing of hangar agreements in Shanghai, Beijing, and Seoul. Brokers should focus in the second half of 2026 on tracking charter intentions among newly delivered G700 owners in China and South Korea, establishing early relationships to address the competitive pressure arising from limited aircraft availability.
