✈️ G700/G800 Fleet Expansion Accelerates, China Departures Break into Global Top Three

Avi-Go data shows that combined active registrations for the Gulfstream G700 and G800 reached 73 aircraft in Q1 2026, with global departure volumes displaying a clear tiered distribution: the United States dominated with 874 departures, the United Kingdom ranked second with 88, and China followed closely in third place with 86. Markets including South Korea (62 departures) and the UAE (56 departures) also showed active performance. It is worth noting that China's 86 departures refer to all G700/G800 flights originating from Chinese airports, which may include departure records for non-Chinese-registered aircraft and are not equivalent to the actual operational volume of the China-registered fleet. On the fleet expansion front, AIN reports that Gulfstream set a record for business jet deliveries in Q1 2026 for the same period historically. The G700 completed its first delivery in Thailand to MJets, and in April 2026 delivered the 10th G700 to Qatar Executive, fulfilling an order placed in 2019. The G700 and G800 simultaneously received Canadian airworthiness certification during the same period, and the G700 also obtained Indian airworthiness certification, with the airworthiness footprint continuing to expand.

Impact: China's departure volume breaking into the global top three indicates that the G700/G800 is achieving meaningful penetration in the Asia-Pacific premium market. For local MRO providers, demand for scheduled maintenance, AOG support, and parts inventory for ultra-long-range aircraft types will accelerate as fleet density increases. For regional charter operators and brokers, ultra-long-range routes originating from China — such as nonstop flights to Europe and North America — are emerging as a quantifiable business direction.

Recommendation: MRO providers should complete their G700/G800 type authorization and qualification assessments before Q3 2026, prioritizing the development of rapid AOG response capabilities at high-frequency departure hubs such as Shanghai and Beijing. Charter brokers can leverage current departure data to develop dedicated product offerings for ultra-long-range routes originating from China, completing client outreach before the peak season in the second half of 2026.
