🌎 Caracas Leads Bogotá’s International Arrivals
Bogotá exceeds Medellín in both international business aviation arrivals and the concentration of traffic from its largest origin city. Avi-Go data show that from June 15 to August 31, 2026, Bogotá’s El Dorado Airport (SKBO) recorded 221 international business aviation arrivals, 117 more than the 104 recorded at Medellín’s José María Córdova Airport (SKRG). Caracas contributed 41 arrivals to SKBO, accounting for 18.6%, while SKRG’s leading origin, Santo Domingo, contributed 13 arrivals, accounting for 12.5%. The two airports’ origin networks overlap, with Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Panama City all appearing in the relevant origin-city rankings. SKBO’s top 10 origin cities generated a combined 134 arrivals, accounting for 60.6%, while SKRG’s top 10 generated 61 arrivals, accounting for 58.7%, indicating a broadly similar level of concentration among the two airports’ main international source markets.
Impact: SKBO has a more pronounced Venezuela-related business segment. Arrivals from Caracas exceeded those from Santo Domingo, Panama City, and Miami by 24, 26, and 27, respectively, providing a clearer route focus for local ground handling and charter sales in Bogotá. Miami and Fort Lauderdale both ranked among the top five origin cities for the two airports, providing a shared customer base for cross-airport sales arrangements covering SKBO and SKRG.
Recommendation: Ground handling providers serving SKBO can use the 41 actual arrivals from Caracas to refine Spanish-language customer support, cross-border documentation assistance, and arrival coordination procedures. They should also continue monitoring whether the volume and share of arrivals from this route persist after September 2026. Brokers covering both airports can consolidate customer leads from Miami and Fort Lauderdale while maintaining separate quotation and handling solutions for Bogotá and Medellín.
