Charter safety credentials remain unevenly held across the US fleet, leaving price and rating alone as incomplete proxies for verifying an operator's audit status before booking.
Bravo, a private charter intelligence platform, computed a register survey on August 23, 2026 covering the US private charter market, tracking 3,792 aircraft, 2,386 operators, and 9,890 indexed reviews.

Of the 2,386 operators, 1,054 (44%) carry a current third-party safety audit, split between 840 with an ARGUS rating and 657 with a WYVERN certification. Among 738 rated operators, the average Google rating is 4.21 across 49,008 reviews, with a median rating of 4.8; 332 of those operators hold fewer than 10 reviews. The tracked fleet of 3,808 airframes is led by Super-Midsize Jets at 1,201 (32%), Light Jets at 1,026 (27%), Midsize Jets at 799 (21%), Heavy Jets at 773 (20%), and turboprops at nine. By manufacturer, Cessna leads with 1,221 airframes, ahead of Bombardier (966), Gulfstream (452), Beechcraft (410), Embraer (289), Dassault (219), Pilatus (28) and Cirrus (10). The ten largest tracked fleets are led by NetJets at 736 aircraft, followed by Solairus Aviation (135), FlyExclusive International (83), [Jet Linx Aviation](/entities/ec2eee657ef45009a3ffc33eb8607b47) (75), [Jet Edge](/entities/a716771997995ff694de6763473dcb63) International (68), Ameriflight (61), Jet Aviation (50), Alpine Aviation (46), [Wheels Up](/entities/28637232c75e51af951aa18f69872484) (45) and [Airshare](/entities/f6ebdd2bf6dd55aa81162fff8eea2223) (41).
Median airframe ages by category show Light Jets as the oldest class with a median build year of 2002 (24 years), followed by Midsize Jets (2005, 21 years), Super-Midsize Jets (2007, 19 years) and Heavy Jets (2006, 20 years); build year data is on file for 3,754 of the 3,808 tracked airframes (99%). Geographically, 55 US states and territories host at least one tracked operator, led by Florida (80 operators), California (56), Texas (32), New York (21) and Arizona (16). The register covers 414 priced routes, with a median cost estimate across all routes of $17,600–$24,600 per leg; routes under 300 nautical miles run $5,600–$7,900, 300–900 nm routes run $16,900–$23,700, 900–1,600 nm routes run $30,800–$43,200, and routes above 1,600 nm carry a median estimate of $81,300–$113,800. Hourly rates on the platform's rate card range from $3,000–$4,200 per hour for turboprops to $17,000–$23,800 per hour for heavy jets. The register went live in August 2026, with fleet data seeded from FAA registry data and operator disclosures, safety audit data drawn from published ARGUS and WYVERN registries, and ratings drawn from Google Business Profile aggregates.
A register that indexes fleet size, audit status, ratings and route pricing side by side gives the charter market a single reference point where buyers previously had to check ARGUS, WYVERN, FAA registry data and Google reviews separately.
The 44% audit-coverage figure shows how the safety-credential layer actually sits on top of the operator base rather than defining it: more than half of the 2,386 tracked operators carry no current third-party audit, and the rating layer is thin too, since 332 of 738 rated operators have fewer than 10 reviews behind their score. Route pricing spread by distance band — from $5,600–$7,900 under 300 nm to $81,300–$113,800 above 1,600 nm — gives a benchmark range rather than a quote, since actual cost still depends on the specific aircraft and operator chosen.
What happens next depends on whether operators without an ARGUS or WYVERN audit move to obtain one now that their absence is indexed publicly, and whether the platform's review base thickens enough to make the median rating a reliable signal rather than a thinly sampled one.
