VALLJET August Flights Fall 16%

AVI-GO Intelligence · · Interactive version with charts

📉 VALLJET’s August Flight Volume Decreased by 110 Flights

VALLJET recorded consecutive increases in flight volume from April through July 2026, followed by its first month-over-month decline in nearly five months in August. Avi-Go data show that, counting each complete operator flight as one flight, the operator completed 351, 462, 601, 686, and 576 flights from April through August, respectively. August recorded 110 fewer flights than July, a decrease of 16.0%. During the nearly six-month observation period ending September 2, 2026, VALLJET completed a cumulative 3,026 flights, including 318 flights from March 3 through March 31 and 32 flights from September 1 through September 2. Because the first and last months were not complete calendar months, they are excluded from the monthly trend comparison. The available data reflect changes in monthly flight volume and may serve as an indicator for monitoring tail utilization patterns and sales cadence.

Impact: The 110-flight difference between July and August indicates that charter sales providers and ground-support providers associated with VALLJET faced changes in task density between the two months. The specific impact was more likely concentrated among tails and service locations with higher numbers of operated sectors rather than evenly distributed across the entire fleet. For brokers, extending supply assumptions directly from July’s high level may result in discrepancies with the actual flight cadence measured in August.

Recommendation: VALLJET and its partner brokers may break down July’s 686 flights and August’s 576 flights by tail number, compare changes in high-frequency aircraft, operating regions, and mission dates, and continue recording data for the full month of September. Until at least two consecutive full months of observations are available, the single-month decline should be interpreted as an observation rather than a definitive trend, with particular attention paid to the distribution of utilization following the 576-flight level.
