🌍 80% of Kuwait’s Short-Haul Flights Connect with the UAE
Regional business aviation activity at Kuwait International Airport (OKKK) was concentrated primarily on Dubai and Abu Dhabi in August 2026. Avi-Go data show that from August 1 to August 31, 26 completed flights were recorded between OKKK and Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE. The Kuwait City–Dubai route accounted for 15 flights, including 8 departures from OKKK and 7 arrivals; the Kuwait City–Abu Dhabi route accounted for 6 flights, including 2 departures and 4 arrivals. UAE routes totaled 21 flights, representing 80.8% of the sample. Saudi Arabian routes accounted for 5 flights, or 19.2%, comprising 2 flights each from Qassim and Riyadh and 1 from Qaisumah, indicating that demand within this month’s short-haul sample was concentrated on two UAE city pairs.
Impact: Dubai and Abu Dhabi jointly contributed 21 flights, providing brokers serving short-haul travel from OKKK with a more concentrated scope for inquiries and partner capacity coverage. Dubai accounted for 15 flights, 9 more than Abu Dhabi, making it the primary focus for quote response and operator resource coordination. The three Saudi city pairs totaled only 5 flights, with no individual route exceeding 2 flights in the monthly sample, making them better suited to itinerary-specific handling rather than fixed capacity allocation based on a single month’s data.
Recommendation: Brokers can compile separate lists of bidirectionally available aircraft types, repositioning locations, and partner operators for the 15 Kuwait City–Dubai flights and 6 Kuwait City–Abu Dhabi flights, while continuing to track completed flight volumes on both city pairs from September through November 2026. If the concentration persists in subsequent months, quote response priorities and partner coverage can then be adjusted based on the continuous monitoring window.
