✈️ Baku’s Top Five Countries of Origin for International Arrivals Are Concentrated in Two Countries
Among the top five countries of origin for international arrivals at Baku’s UBBB airport, Turkey and Spain account for more than 60% combined, providing a clear basis for prioritizing cross-border client outreach. Avi-Go data show that, from July 15 to September 25, 2026, among business jets departing from airports outside Azerbaijan and landing at UBBB, Turkey accounted for 80 arrivals, Spain 55, Kazakhstan 33, India 29, and Russia 27, based on the country of the departure airport; each landing counts as one arrival. Turkey and Spain together accounted for 135 arrivals, or 60.3% of the 224 arrivals from these five countries. This percentage applies to the top-five country-of-origin sample, not to all international arrivals at UBBB.
Impact: For ground handlers and brokers serving cross-border arrivals at UBBB, flights originating in Turkey and Spain offer the most concentrated client-outreach opportunities among the countries observed in this group. Kazakhstan, India, and Russia accounted for a combined 89 arrivals and each also represents a distinct source of prospective clients. Outreach can be prioritized by actual arrival counts rather than treating the top five countries of origin as equally sized markets.
Recommendation: Compile separate client-outreach lists for UBBB international arrivals from Turkey, with 80 arrivals, and Spain, with 55, then follow up with the other three countries in tiers based on their respective counts of 33, 29, and 27 arrivals. Going forward, track changes in the arrival rankings of these five countries and in Turkey and Spain’s combined share of the top-five total to adjust outreach efforts.
