✈️ Toluca Business Aviation Movements Decline 16.7% in July
After rebounding in June 2026, business aviation activity at Toluca International Airport in Mexico declined again in July, with the direction of monthly changes shifting multiple times from March through July. Avi-Go data show that from February 24 through August 23, 2026, the airport recorded 19,880 business aviation movements, including 9,995 departures and 9,885 arrivals. Among the complete months, March recorded 3,768 movements; April declined 7.7% to 3,479; May fell another 3.6% to 3,354; June increased 10.4% to 3,704; and July declined 16.7% to 3,085. A total of 2,014 movements were recorded from August 1 through August 23, but because the period was incomplete, it should not be directly compared with complete months. The available series reflects monthly fluctuations and does not yet constitute a unidirectional trend.
Impact: Business aviation movements across the consecutive complete months ranged from 3,085 to 3,768, a difference of 683 movements between the highest and lowest levels. This means staffing shifts, fuel supply, and parking resource requirements at Toluca FBOs will vary with monthly traffic volumes. If resources are configured long term based on March’s high, capacity may be underutilized in July; if support capacity is reduced solely based on July, it may be insufficient to accommodate a temporary rebound similar to June’s.
Recommendation: Toluca FBOs can adopt rolling monthly resource planning, using the observed range of 3,085 to 3,768 movements as a near-term reference for staffing and fuel procurement, and adjust resources for the second half of each month based on the month-to-date average daily movement rate as of mid-month. Going forward, attention should focus on complete-month data for August and data for September 2026 to determine whether July’s decline was a one-month fluctuation or the beginning of a multi-month change.
