✈️ Teterboro–Opa-locka Flight Activity Falls by 61

Two business aviation routes from New York’s Teterboro Airport (KTEB) to the Miami area moved in different directions across the two most recent consecutive 75-day windows: flights to Opa-locka Airport (KOPF) declined, while flights to Miami Executive Airport (KTMB) increased. Avi-Go data show that from July 25 through October 7, 2026, KTEB to KOPF recorded 358 completed flights, down 61, or 14.6%, from 419 between May 11 and July 24, 2026. KTEB to KTMB rose from 37 to 40 flights, an increase of 3. The two destination airports combined fell from 456 to 398 flights, a decrease of 58. This comparison shows that the increase at KTMB did not offset the decline at KOPF, but the conclusion applies only to these two specified routes.

Impact: For brokers serving charter demand originating at KTEB, KOPF remains the higher-volume destination of the two, but its flight activity declined during the observation window. Although KTMB increased, the absolute gain was only 3 flights. Combining the two airports into a single Miami-area indicator could obscure changes at each destination airport and skew assessments of where to add charter capacity relative to the actual distribution of flights.

Recommendation: When discussing additional charter capacity originating at KTEB, brokers should tally inquiries, available aircraft, and flights actually operated for KOPF and KTMB separately, then compare them with the current window’s 358 and 40 flights, respectively. Key points to monitor are whether the change in KOPF flight activity continues and whether KTMB’s increase persists over a longer window.
