✈️ Tbilisi Records 118 Cross-Border Arrivals Over Six Weeks
Tbilisi Airport continued to receive business jets departing from outside Georgia from August 24 to October 4, 2026. Avi-Go data show that, counting each landing at UGTB as one movement, cross-border arrivals totaled 118 movements over the six weeks. There were 28 movements from August 24 to August 30; the following four full weeks recorded 19, 17, 17, and 16 movements, respectively; and 21 movements were recorded from September 28 to October 4. The full-week figures show a gradual decline from 28 to 16 movements. The final week’s figure is treated only as an observation and is not, on its own, evidence of a rebound in arrivals.
Impact: For operators and ground handlers supporting cross-border missions at UGTB, the weekly arrival volume of 16 to 28 movements reflects mission frequency during this period but cannot be used to determine the entry or overflight permit requirements for any particular flight. Traffic records and flight-specific rules are different types of information, so requirements must still be checked for each mission.
Recommendation: When arranging a cross-border business aviation mission to Tbilisi, operators should have the actual point of departure, planned route, and arrival time confirmed for each flight by the relevant authority or a local ground handler, and check applicable permits and notices. They can continue monitoring changes in UGTB’s full-week arrivals from abroad, but should not change their permit-checking process based on a single week’s figures.
