✈️ Aero Expo Touts Europe's Largest, Yet German Domestic Movements Quietly Decline
Aero Friedrichshafen announced on June 18, 2026 that it had become Europe's largest business aviation trade show, and designated 2027 as a year of continued growth. However, its optimistic outlook stands in clear contrast to the actual trend in domestic German business aviation activity. Avi-Go data shows that Germany recorded a cumulative 84,571 movements from January 1 to June 22, 2026, a decrease of 5,174 from the 89,745 movements in the same period of 2025, a year-on-year decline of 5.76% (departures -5.83%, arrivals -5.70%). Munich EDDM led with 5,436 movements and Berlin EDDB with 5,354 movements, with a minimal gap between the two. Argus also noted that global activity growth had slowed to approximately 3.1% in May, with June appearing even weaker.
