🌏 Jakarta Leads Overseas Sources of Business Aircraft Arriving at Seletar
Jakarta was the leading overseas origin city for business aircraft landings at Singapore’s Seletar Airport from September 8 to September 26, 2026. Avi-Go data shows that, counting each landing as one movement, Seletar received 274 business aircraft landings from overseas origins during the 19-day period. Jakarta accounted for 64, or 23.4%, and Kuala Lumpur for 35, or 12.8%. They were followed by Hong Kong with 18, Bangkok with 9, and Seoul with 7. Together, these top five origin cities accounted for 133 landings, or 48.5% of all landings from overseas origins. The figures show Jakarta’s lead over the other listed origin cities, but they also show that more than half of overseas landings came from outside the top five. Seletar’s overseas arrival patterns therefore cannot be understood by looking at these five cities alone.
Impact: For ground handlers at Seletar, the 64 landings from Jakarta and 35 from Kuala Lumpur provide a clear basis for assessing coordination needs with those origins. At the same time, the 141 landings from outside the top five account for 51.5% of the total, so arranging services around only a few origin cities would provide limited coverage. For charter brokers, the ranking reflects where aircraft arrived from, not passenger demand or available capacity; commercial assessments should be kept separate from specific inquiries.
Recommendation: Seletar ground handlers can first review existing handling records for Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur, the two origin routes with higher observed volumes, while continuing to track the distribution of arrivals from other cities. When using the figures of 64 and 35 landings to assess market leads, charter brokers should verify actual itinerary requirements case by case and avoid treating landing volumes as directly equivalent to charter legs available for sale.
