🏗️ Atlantic Expands Business Aviation Support in Nashville
Atlantic Aviation is advancing a second FBO at Nashville’s John C. Tune Airport. Publicly available project information indicates that it has received a recommended contract award, subject to final approval by the MNAA Board of Commissioners. Scheduled for completion in October 2027, the project includes a 7,500-square-foot terminal, a 39,600-square-foot hangar and office complex, approximately 193,000 square feet of apron space, and a dedicated deicing pad, along with storage facilities for 60,000 gallons of Jet-A and 10,000 gallons of 100LL. Avi-Go data show that, as an independent reference for demand patterns at Nashville’s other airport, KBNA recorded 1,566 business aircraft movements from August 4 to August 17, 2026, including 788 departures and 778 arrivals. Light, midsize, and super-midsize jets accounted for 480, 368, and 296 movements, respectively, totaling 1,144 movements, or 73.1%. These data do not represent traffic for the JWN project, but they indicate that business aviation activity observed at Nashville’s other airport during the period was dominated by light through super-midsize jets.
Impact: The addition of a 39,600-square-foot hangar, dedicated deicing pad, and storage for two fuel types will expand JWN’s capacity to support based aircraft, overnight parking, and ground handling. The development of a second FBO will also change the airport’s existing service-supply structure, giving visiting crews and based aircraft more service options.
Recommendation: With the October 2027 opening as the target, Atlantic Aviation should prioritize detailed planning for hangar zoning, towing procedures, and fueling arrangements for light through super-midsize jets. The MNAA Board of Commissioners’ approval decision, as well as JWN’s own business aircraft movement volumes and fleet mix, should be monitored to refine the customer allocation strategy for the 39,600-square-foot hangar.
