Business jet traffic between São Paulo and Brasília increased by 63.7% in the latest 30-day window, with flight volumes nearly balanced in both directions. Avi-Go data show that from July 23 to August 21, 2026, there were 149 flights in both directions between São Paulo’s SBSP/SBGR airports and Brasília’s SBBR, comprising 75 flights from São Paulo to Brasília and 74 in the reverse direction. From June 23 to July 22, 2026, the corresponding figures were 43 and 48 flights, respectively, totaling 91 flights. The growth came primarily from segments involving Congonhas Airport (SBSP): flights from SBSP to SBBR increased from 25 to 56, while flights in the reverse direction rose from 27 to 57. Over the same period, flights from SBGR to SBBR increased from 18 to 19, while those in the reverse direction declined from 21 to 17, indicating that the additional activity in the latest window was concentrated between SBSP and SBBR rather than reflecting simultaneous growth at both São Paulo airports.
Impact: The additional flight volume was concentrated on SBSP-related segments, making Congonhas Airport the direct beneficiary of the latest round of bidirectional growth between São Paulo and Brasília. In the latest window, bidirectional traffic involving SBSP reached 113 flights, accounting for the majority of the 149 flights across the route combination. For operators serving this corridor, the balanced structure of 75 outbound and 74 return flights supports aircraft rotation planning around customer travel in both directions.
