✈️ NetJets Bets on Augusta: From Leasing FBO Space to Building a 432,000 Sq Ft Proprietary Facility
Event-driven bizav demand is generating a new logic for fixed-asset investment. NetJets' dedicated terminal at Augusta Regional Airport (KAGS) will debut during the 2026 Masters, featuring 432,000 sq ft of ramp space, lounges, and private meeting rooms. The move signals a shift from reliance on third-party FBOs to full control of ground service operations. Per AIN, NetJets operated ~580 movements at KAGS during the 2025 Masters and projects 775 in 2026 — a 34% increase — with its departure share at KAGS already at 23% and flight volume up 27% from 2024 to 2025. Avi-Go data shows 58 movements at KAGS on April 1–2, 2026 (the two pre-tournament days), essentially flat vs. 57 in the same period of 2025. NetJets led all operators with 8 movements; the fleet mix added G280 and Global 6000 types, reflecting an overall shift upmarket.
Implications: NetJets' proprietary facility will divert high-value ground service revenue from other operators and FBOs, compressing existing FBOs' pricing leverage during the Masters peak.
