Nearshoring Lifts Monterrey Jet Traffic

✈️ Monterrey Del Norte sees 53% surge in takeoffs and landings over past 90 days, MMAN share climbs to 71.9%

Monterrey business jet traffic is accelerating its concentration toward Del Norte (MMAN). Avi-Go data shows that during the past 90 days from May 9 to August 7, 2026, Monterrey recorded a combined 6,032 movements, up 35.4% from 4,456 during the same period last year; among them, MMAN alone accounted for 4,335 movements, an increase of 1,501 movements year-on-year, or a 53.0% growth, becoming the main growth engine, with its share of Monterrey business jet traffic rising from approximately 63.6% to 71.9%. Over the same period, Mariano Escobedo (MMMY) recorded 1,697 movements, up only 4.6%, while Saltillo MMIO recorded 1,398 movements, likewise strengthening with 20.4% growth, whereas Querétaro MMQT recorded 1,706 movements, bucking the trend with an 8.2% decline.

Impact: The three cities diverge: Monterrey and Saltillo are strengthening while Querétaro fell 8.2%. MMAN, leveraging the traffic concentration effect, is consolidating its status as northern Mexico's business jet gateway.

Recommendation: FBOs and ground handling operators may assess MMAN's parking stand and supporting facility expansion needs before Q4 2026 to capture the traffic concentration window; brokers are advised to position customized charter products in advance targeting the incremental business clientele at Saltillo MMIO.
