🌍 Livingstone Accounts for Nearly 30% of Cape Town’s International Business Jet Arrivals
Among business jet arrivals at Cape Town’s FACT originating from airports outside South Africa, Livingstone ranked first among origin cities from August through September 2026, with 22 arrivals. Avi-Go data show that from August 1 through September 30, 2026, FACT recorded 78 business jet arrivals originating from airports outside South Africa. Livingstone accounted for 22, or approximately 28.2%; Windhoek accounted for 9; and Maun, Gaborone, and Nairobi accounted for 3 each. The top five origin cities together accounted for 40 arrivals, or 51.3% of the total of 78. Each landing at FACT is counted as one arrival; the data are current as of October 10, 2026. This distribution shows the origin mix of arrivals over two months, not passenger destinations or fixed route schedules.
Impact: Livingstone’s 22 arrivals alone exceeded the combined 18 from Windhoek and the other three cities on the list. FACT ground handlers can prioritize reviewing arrivals from Livingstone when assessing cross-border arrival service records. However, 38 arrivals originated outside the top five cities, so operational planning should not focus solely on those listed.
Recommendation: FACT ground handlers can continue recording actual landings of business jets arriving from outside South Africa by origin city, with Livingstone tracked separately. The point to monitor is whether, in subsequent full months, arrivals from Livingstone and their share of all arrivals originating from airports outside South Africa remain at the levels seen from August through September 2026. Targeted service preparations can then be adjusted accordingly.
