Lagos Departures Surge 34% YoY

✈️ Lagos business-government trunk route strengthens as Anap Jets leads Lagos-Abuja

Avi-Go data shows that in June 2026, the Lagos-to-Abuja business corridor recorded 294 movements, with Anap Jets leading at 34 movements, followed closely by Avcon Jet (17), Viva Jets (15), and Mounthill (13). The top four combined for 79 movements, accounting for 26.9%. Over the same period, Lagos DNMM airport recorded 554 departures, up 34.1% year-on-year (+141 movements) from 413 in June 2025, reflecting strong momentum on the West African business trunk route. In terms of aircraft type structure, the Challenger 604 (66), CRJ-200 (52), and Legacy 600 (51) ranked at the top, with mid-to-large jets and regional jets coexisting, reflecting a mix of business-government passenger and commuter demand.

Impact: An expanding Lagos departure base means simultaneous increases in demand for FBO ground services, hangars, and refueling; competition among operators on the high-frequency Lagos-Abuja trunk route is intensifying, and concentration among leading players has yet to solidify, leaving mid-sized operators room to compete for share.

Recommendation: FBOs and operators should complete assessments of local Lagos capacity and ground support before the end of Q3 2026, locking in peak-season slots and maintenance resources; brokers can review the supply of Challenger 604 and CRJ-200 aircraft within July and position charter products in advance for trunk-route commuter clients.
