Lagos-Abuja Bizjet Traffic Stages V-Shaped Rebound

✈️ Lagos-Abuja Business Jets Surge to 498 Flights in June, Hitting First-Half High

Avi-Go data shows that bidirectional business jet movements between Nigeria's Lagos (DNMM) and Abuja (DNAA) in the first half of 2026 followed a "high level—sharp drop—V-shaped rebound—new high" trajectory: 429 flights in January, 463 in February, plunging to 107 in March (the lowest of the period), recovering to 420 in April, and rising to 498 in June—a first-half peak and a 16.1% increase over January. The half-year bidirectional total reached 2,260 flights, with the two directions roughly balanced—DNMM→DNAA at 1,120 flights and DNAA→DNMM at 1,140 flights, with the reverse direction higher by only 20 flights. The deep dip in March may have been caused by a special event or a data gap.

Impact: The balanced and consistently high bidirectional traffic between the economic hub of Lagos and the political capital of Abuja reflects strong demand for round-trip business and political aviation in West Africa. For operators and FBOs deeply rooted in this corridor, this means stable and predictable bidirectional scheduling opportunities.

Recommendation: Operators may optimize bidirectional capacity and return-leg loading for this corridor in Q3 2026 to reduce empty legs. FBOs and ground handlers are advised to complete pre-coordination of parking stands and fast-track clearance resources at both ends before the July peak season, in order to accommodate the high demand seen since June.
