✈️ ExecuJet Kuala Lumpur MRO Triple Certification Expands Capacity; Maintenance Orders and On-Site Traffic Diverge
ExecuJet MRO Services Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur facility has obtained EASA/FAA/CAAV triple certification, adding Vietnam CAAV approval for Gulfstream G650ER maintenance in April 2026, along with Falcon 7X maintenance capability. Its primary customer aircraft types are the G550/G650ER/G450 long-range large-cabin jets and the King Air 350i. It is important to distinguish that the increase in MRO workload primarily reflects an expansion of maintenance orders from the regional installed fleet, rather than a corresponding growth in on-site takeoff and landing traffic. Avi-Go data shows that from January 1 to June 19, 2026, business jet movements at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (WMKK) totaled only 41, while WMKJ reached 384 over the same period—approximately 9.4 times the former. On the departure side, the G550 (74 movements) and G650ER (44 movements) together accounted for 74.2% of the Top 10, closely matching the customer aircraft type structure of the capacity expansion.
Impact: The driving force behind MRO orders comes from the maintenance demand for long-range large-cabin aircraft within the regional installed fleet, decoupled from the real-time traffic of any single airport. The gradual expansion of maintenance approvals (such as CAAV for the G650ER) is opening incremental customer channels in markets like Vietnam.
