✈️ FTW Records 103 Aircraft Movements on Restriction Day; FBO Operates as Usual

Modern Aviation issued an advisory on September 30, 2026: due to VIP travel, temporary flight restrictions in effect throughout October 1 would affect FTW and other airports in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The company advised operators to review NOTAMs before departure and coordinate with their flight-planning teams; its FTW FBO would operate as usual on the restriction day. Avi-Go data show that, as of October 4, 2026, FTW Airport (KFTW) recorded 50 business aircraft departures and 53 arrivals on October 1, for a total of 103 movements. From September 28 through September 30, the three-day totals were 166 departures and 173 arrivals, equivalent to daily averages of 55.3 and 57.7, respectively. October 1 therefore had 5.3 fewer departures and 4.7 fewer arrivals than those daily averages. The figures show the difference between activity on the restriction day and the preceding three-day daily averages; the differences alone cannot establish that the temporary flight restrictions caused the change.

Impact: Operators using FTW need to confirm Modern Aviation’s operating arrangements and airspace access conditions separately. The FBO’s continued provision of ground services does not mean that a planned route or departure or arrival window is unrestricted. The 103 movements that took place on October 1 also do not mean that every proposed flight plan was subject to the same access conditions.

Recommendation: Before conducting a flight involving FTW, operators should follow Modern Aviation’s advice to review the NOTAMs applicable to that flight and have their flight-planning teams verify the route and timing. Ground-service arrangements should be confirmed directly with the FTW FBO. When reviewing operations on October 1, operators should assess the 103 recorded movements against specific flight plans rather than directly attributing the difference from the preceding three-day daily averages to the restrictions.
