✈️ LTBA accounts for nearly 80% of business aircraft takeoffs and landings at the two airports
Business aircraft activity at Istanbul’s two airports differed markedly in scale from early to late September 2026. According to Avi-Go data, from September 4 to September 26, 2026, LTBA recorded 574 departures and 561 arrivals, for a total of 1,135 takeoffs and landings. Over the same period, LTFM recorded 158 departures and 156 arrivals, for a total of 314. Of the two airports’ combined 1,449 takeoffs and landings, LTBA accounted for 78.3%; this share reflects only the distribution between LTBA and LTFM during that 23-day window.
Impact: For ground handlers engaging with both LTBA and LTFM, LTBA accounted for the greater concentration of observed business aircraft activity at the two airports, making it a suitable focus for this round of customer outreach and assessment of operational needs. The figures represent aircraft takeoffs and landings, not ground-handling orders or facility capacity, and cannot be used directly to calculate the volume of business available.
Recommendation: Ground handlers can first use LTBA’s 1,135 takeoffs and landings to assess service needs by aircraft type and operator, then develop a separate outreach plan for LTFM’s 314. It is worth tracking the distribution of takeoffs and landings at both airports over a longer period to determine whether the share observed during these 23 days persists.
