AVI-GO Intelligence · · Interactive version with charts

📉 Hangzhou Xiaoshan business jet movements down 6.6% year-on-year in first half

Avi-Go data shows that Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport (ZSHC) recorded a total of 745 business jet movements from January to June 2026, down approximately 6.6% (a decrease of 53 movements) from 798 in the same period of 2025; counting through July 17, cumulative movements reached 814, down approximately 7.0% year-on-year. The decline was mainly driven by January at the start of the year, when 106 movements compared with 132 in the same period of 2025, a drop of about 20%—the largest decline of the entire period; the spring peak season in April and May also came under pressure, with 147 movements in April down about 2.6% year-on-year and 137 in May down about 9.3% year-on-year. Notably, the monthly rhythm was consistent with 2025—April still surged to the annual peak of 147 movements, and February, with 8.3% growth, was one of the few months of positive growth, indicating a moderate contraction rather than a structural diversion.

Impact: For operators and FBOs relying on the Hangzhou base, the volume gap in January and the spring peak season directly affects revenue from parking, ground handling, and charter scheduling, but the market structure has not fundamentally changed, and the full-year fundamentals remain relatively stable.

Recommendation: Operators can lock in Hangzhou inbound and outbound customers in advance for the peak-season window from August to the end of 2026, focusing on making up the first-half gap; FBOs should assess ground handling resource allocation ahead of the business and exhibition season in Q4 2026 to avoid capacity mismatches during the peak season.
