Haneda Takes 65% of Tokyo Traffic

AVI-GO Intelligence · · Interactive version with charts

✈️ Nearly Two-Thirds of Tokyo’s Business Aviation Traffic Concentrated at Haneda

Tokyo Haneda Airport (RJTT) handled more business aviation activity than Tokyo’s other airport during the 74-day window. Avi-Go data show that from July 6 to September 17, 2026, Haneda recorded 348 business aircraft departures and 346 arrivals, totaling 694 movements; Narita International Airport (RJAA) recorded 180 departures and 190 arrivals, totaling 370 movements. The two airports recorded a combined 1,064 movements, with Haneda accounting for 65.2% and leading Narita by 324 movements, including 168 more departures and 156 more arrivals. At the airport level, each departure and arrival is counted as one movement.

Impact: The traffic distribution during the window indicates that service providers supporting business aviation customers in Tokyo would miss the majority of combined traffic at the two airports if they covered only Narita. Haneda’s 694 movements also mean that its service responsiveness, passenger connections, and ground coordination have a more direct impact on the business aviation service experience across Tokyo’s two airports.

Recommendation: For Tokyo operations in the fourth quarter of 2026, service providers can allocate service teams and vehicles between the two airports based on the observed distribution of 694 movements at Haneda and 370 at Narita, while tracking changes in departures and arrivals separately. A key point to monitor is whether Haneda’s approximately 65% share continues in subsequent full-month data.
