✈️ G700 China Flight Volume Surges 182% Year-on-Year as Asia-Pacific Certification Footprint Accelerates

Avi-Go data shows that from January through early May 2026, the Gulfstream G700 global active fleet reached 57 aircraft, up 58.3% from 36 aircraft in the same period of 2025. China's market performance was particularly notable — flight volume in the same period jumped from 38 movements to 107 movements, a increase of 181.6%, with market ranking climbing from 7th to 3rd place, making it the fastest-growing single market globally. Japan entered the global Top 10 for the same period, recording 41 movements, reflecting a significant rise in the Asia-Pacific region's overall presence. This momentum closely aligns with the rapid expansion of the G700's certification footprint: in February 2026, the G700 successively received type certification from Transport Canada and India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation, while FlightSafety simultaneously obtained G700 simulator certification qualifications in Europe and Asia. According to AIN, Gulfstream's Q1 2026 deliveries reached a record high, Qatar Executive completed the acceptance of its 10th G700, and Thailand's MJets received its first G700 in March 2026. Notably, the Middle East conflict caused some disruption to order acceptance in the latter part of Q1, with Qatar market flight volume declining from 61 movements to 35 movements, confirming the tangible impact of geopolitical risk on localized markets.

Impact: For Asia-Pacific FBO and MRO operators, the rapid increase in G700 fleet density means that support demand will be concentrated in the near term, with ground handling and spare parts inventory pressure set to increase significantly in China and Japan in particular. For competing aircraft sales teams, the G700's certification breakthroughs in Asia-Pacific have materially narrowed the market window for other ultra-long-range aircraft types.

Recommendation: Asia-Pacific FBOs and ground support service providers should complete the signing or upgrading of G700 ground support agreements before Q3 2026, prioritizing the two high-growth nodes of China and Japan. When evaluating Asia-Pacific route scheduling for the second half of 2026, operators should incorporate the Asia certification rollout of the G700 simulator into crew training plans and proactively reserve relevant FlightSafety course resources in advance.
