🛠️ G280 Leads Gulfstream’s Pre-Delivery Flight Activity

Gulfstream has recently continued test flights, customer acceptance flights, and new aircraft deliveries in Savannah: on August 23, 2026, a Gulfstream G800 conducted a local test flight from Savannah to Savannah; on August 31, activity records for G700 N742GA included test and customer acceptance flights, with a cumulative test flight time of 3 hours and 6 minutes. On the delivery front, Sino Jet’s new G700, P4-HUA, departed Gulfstream’s Savannah production facility on August 30, traveling via Anchorage to Shanghai Hongqiao. Avi-Go data show that from August 10 to September 8, 2026, Gulfstream OEM operated 309 flights based on complete flight records. The G280 accounted for 103 flights, significantly more than the G500’s 46, the G650ER’s 45, the G550’s 41, and the G700’s 24; the top five aircraft types totaled 259 flights, representing 83.8% of the total. This distribution indicates that, beyond the confirmed G800 test flight and G700 acceptance and delivery activities, the G280 constituted the largest single-aircraft-type segment of Gulfstream OEM flight operations during this 30-day window.

Impact: The G280 contributed 33.3% of Gulfstream OEM’s total flight volume, making its operating tempo the most prominent driver of Gulfstream’s recent use of production-support resources. Meanwhile, the G700 and G800 have already covered the testing, acceptance, and intercontinental delivery stages, requiring Savannah-based teams to manage new aircraft activities at different stages in parallel.

Recommendation: Continue tracking G280 flight volume after September 9, as well as changes in the number of local test flights and departure flights involving the G700 and G800. Record test, customer acceptance, and delivery sectors separately to identify how the mix of pre-delivery and delivery activities within the 309 flights evolves.
