✈️ Farnborough Recorded 319 More Cross-Border Arrivals Than Luton
Business jet arrivals originating outside the United Kingdom showed a clear difference between two London-area airports over the most recent 45 days. Avi-Go data show that from August 27 to October 10, 2026, 1,733 business jet flights originating outside the United Kingdom landed at Farnborough Airport (EGLF), compared with 1,414 at London Luton Airport (EGGW)—319 more at Farnborough. Each landing is counted as one movement. The figures cover inbound flights originating abroad and exclude arrivals originating within the United Kingdom and departures from either airport. The difference therefore reflects cross-border arrivals during this period, not all business jet movements at the two airports.
Impact: For the FBOs at the two airports, 1,733 and 1,414 arrivals, respectively, provide recent benchmarks for international arrival-handling demand. Farnborough’s higher volume under this measure means that staffing services according to actual arrivals over these 45 days would require coverage for more cross-border arrivals there. These figures should not be used to compare the airports’ total business volume or service capacity.
Recommendation: FBOs at Farnborough and London Luton can each use their own arrivals originating abroad to review the arrival-handling resources actually deployed from August 27 to October 10, 2026, and track subsequent data using the same measure. When comparing the two airports, arrivals originating within the United Kingdom and departures should continue to be excluded from this metric, so that the 319-movement gap in cross-border arrivals is not used to infer a gap in overall aircraft movements.
