📉 Business aircraft movements decline at both Denver airports
Business aircraft movements at Denver’s KAPA and KBJC both declined across the two most recent consecutive 30-day periods. Avi-Go data show that from August 25 to September 23, 2026, KAPA recorded 5,397 movements, down 225, or 4.0%, from 5,622 during July 26 to August 24, 2026. KBJC recorded 2,309 movements, down 127, or 5.2%, from 2,436 in the preceding period. In airport-level data, each takeoff or landing counts as one movement. Because movements at both airports changed in the same direction, KAPA’s decline cannot be counted directly as traffic shifting to KBJC.
Impact: For FBOs at KAPA and KBJC, each airport’s own change in movements is a better basis for staffing than an assumption that traffic shifted between the airports. KAPA, in particular, still recorded 5,397 movements in the most recent 30 days, so staffing should account for the actual service volume, not just the 4.0% decline.
Recommendation: FBOs at each airport should use their own movement totals for the most recent 30 days and the preceding 30-day period as staffing references, and continue comparing subsequent complete 30-day periods. A key point to watch is whether movements at KAPA and KBJC continue to move in the same direction or begin to diverge.
