✈️ International business jet arrivals in Egypt are more concentrated in Cairo
The gap in international business jet arrivals between Cairo HECA and Sharm El Sheikh HESH is substantial. Avi-Go data show that from August 18 through September 23, 2026, business jets departing from countries other than Egypt made 246 landings at HECA and 23 at HESH. The figures count only international arrivals at these two airports, with each landing counted once. They reflect a difference in the workload for handling international arrivals, not the total number of business jet takeoffs and landings at either airport.
Impact: Service providers handling international business jet arrivals should not staff aircraft reception, passenger connections, and related services at the two airports on the basis of equal arrival volumes. HECA recorded substantially more such landings over the 37-day period, creating more arrival assignments for its teams. HESH is better served by staffing against actual bookings rather than copying HECA’s staffing levels.
Recommendation: Track international business jet arrival bookings and actual landings separately for HECA and HESH, using the 246 and 23 landings recorded over these 37 days as airport-specific reference values to adjust arrival-service rosters on a rolling basis. The point to monitor is how international arrival volumes at the two airports change in subsequent periods, not to use these figures to infer resource needs for domestic flight segments or all business jet operations.
