✈️ AirX Weaves a Europe-Middle East-Asia Charter Network with the Challenger 850
AirX is using the Challenger 850 large-cabin model as a pivot to build a triangular charter network spanning Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, with 9 of these aircraft among its 23-strong fleet. Avi-Go data shows that from May 12 to June 11, 2026, AirX recorded a total of 1,466 movements (733 departures, 733 arrivals), of which the Challenger 850 contributed 590 movements (40.2%), followed closely by the Legacy 600 with 514 movements (35.1%), the top three models together accounting for 94%. Operations are highly concentrated in Europe, with Nice (LFMN) leading at 109 movements, followed by Luton (76) and Malaga (63). In line with these strategic moves, AirX obtained Saudi GACA Part 129 authorization in February 2026 and EASA approval in March to install Gogo Ku-band broadband on the Challenger 850, and has signed a letter of intent for up to 50 Eve eVTOLs, planned for use in Tokyo and Osaka urban air mobility (specific quantities and confirmation status remain to be independently verified).
Impact: Leveraging the large cabin and lower operating costs of the CRJ-200ER conversion, the Challenger 850 has gained a "second life" in the medium-to-long-haul charter market. While the dual concentration of model and airport boosts scheduling efficiency, it also increases operational risk exposure to a single region and aircraft type.
Recommendation: Charter brokers may lock in AirX's Nice-Middle East seasonal capacity before Q3 2026 to hedge against peak-season price increases; competing operators should assess the cost structure of comparable large-cabin models in the second half of 2026 and position early in the emerging Middle East and Asia-Pacific traffic corridors.
