🛥️ 654 Business Jet Arrivals at Two Airports Ahead of Yacht Show Opening

On September 23, 2026, Monaco Yacht Show 2026 opened at Port Hercule in Monaco and will run through September 26. A charter promotion page published on September 8 positioned Nice as the gateway and listed the Global 6000, Gulfstream G650, and Falcon 8X as travel options for the show. Airport information dated September 12 indicated that Cannes Mandelieu Airport (LFMD) has a runway of approximately 5,282 feet and a weight limit of around 22 metric tons, while Nice Airport (LFMN) has a runway of approximately 9,711 feet and dedicated business aviation facilities. Avi-Go data shows that from September 16 to September 22, 2026, Nice and Cannes Mandelieu recorded 475 and 179 business jet landings, respectively, totaling 654, with Nice accounting for 72.6% of combined landings at the two airports. During the same period, G650, G650ER, Global 6000, and Global 7500 aircraft completed 428, 844, 950, and 537 flights, respectively, across the full database, totaling 2,759 flights. These aircraft-type data were not restricted to the two airports and therefore reflect only overall activity during the same period; they cannot be used to calculate the pre-show mix of ultra-long-range aircraft.

Impact: The distribution of landings during the seven days before the show indicates that Nice handled the higher volume of business jet arrivals between the two airports. Given the differences in runway length and weight restrictions, Nice service providers should pay particular attention to transfer and ground-support demand associated with heavy-jet passengers. Cannes Mandelieu still recorded 179 landings, demonstrating that it continues to play a practical role in accommodating business jets better suited to its operating conditions.

Recommendation: During the show, Nice ground handling and transfer teams can use the 475 pre-show landings as an arrival baseline and dynamically adjust vehicle and staff scheduling in line with the departure pattern following the show’s close on September 26. Operators at both airports can continue tracking landings by specific aircraft type at LFMN and LFMD before assessing the actual distribution of ultra-long-range aircraft.
