Hawaii Gov. Josh Green said Sunday that Tropical Storm Moke was bringing relatively light impacts to Hawaii Island as recovery from Hurricane Lala continued. Rainfall had been projected at 5 to 10 inches, but Green said officials were growing more hopeful totals would come in lower than feared.

The state prepositioned response vehicles, equipment and personnel ahead of the storm, and Green announced a mission called Trek 808, which will use C-17 aircraft to bring additional equipment to the islands to support storm response and preparedness for current and future Pacific systems.

Power restoration on Hawaii Island following Hurricane Lala remained ongoing, with about 6,600 customers still without electricity Sunday morning, while the other islands had full power restored. The state has also authorized hotel rooms for displaced residents, primarily in the Kau district.
