The airport said it did not experience an actual fuel shortage, and that delays are now minimal as crews work to resolve the problem; it advised passengers to check with their airlines, noting most departing flights remained on time.

Overnight, reports circulated that the airport was out of fuel and unable to refuel aircraft. The FAA issued a notice to airmen around 10:30 p.m. Sunday regarding the situation. Patrick De Haan of GasBuddy noted that Buffalo Niagara Airport receives jet fuel by truck rather than pipeline, and said the issue is "not concerning at this point."
